Shadows over Greyhawk are a Dungeons and Dragons group that meet in Brooklyn, NY as often as possible.  The group is made up of 30 somethings working in the film industry, a physical computing student and an IT geek.  Emphasis is on having a good time with some beer, food and a fun game whilst avoiding to D&D nerd stereotype.

The Brief

To provide an interactive website allowing everyone to contribute to site whilst maintaining interest between sessions.

The Project

Budget was very tight on this one so it was important to cut as many corners as possible whilst delivering an effective site that required the minimum of maintenance.  Because of the similarity with the Saint George Squadron and to save time we used the same basic template as that site.  Forums were not required as only a small number of users are involved.  Instead we used a facebook group to allow member communication.

The site itself uses mediawiki with the Saint George Squadron skin, with custom graphics.

The site itself is on the border between WordPress and mediawiki as my preferred solution.  In the end I used mediawiki and a object oriented approach rather than wordpress with it’s chronological format.
